With all of the contaminated foods coming to you from the supermarket… you know, the tomatoes, spinach jalapeƱo peppers that were (and are) making everyone ill? What is one to do? Firstly I must ask, what is going on with that? Why on earth is there e-coli and salmonella in vegetables? Secondly, forget wondering, and just avoid that altogether and grow your own veggies. It’s the most healthy way to go and the veggies taste better. You will never go back to store bought tomatoes again unless they are real organic tomatoes and other vegetables.
It’s never too late to start a garden even though we are getting ready for fall. What am I talking about, you ask? Grow food indoors. Why not? If you have a spare room, or better yet a basement, you can grow many things indoors. How?
Get a Turbo Grow Room
or a 36 Plant Dual Chamber Hydroponic Grow Cabinet
!
These allow you to easily grow vegetables and herbs indoors. The latter looks like a regular cabinet so you can even put it in your living room. No one would even know there are living plants inside the cabinet. Closed, that is!

While some people are getting ready for the holidays, doing the usual yule-tide activities such as cookie making, gorging themselves with sweets and extremely caloric snacks and desserts, others have something else in mind. To them the holidays mean resist and avoid all the fatty traps that one easily falls for, and instead, these people keep their reserve and make their seasons greetings a healthy and active time of year. That’s willpower, is all I gotta say.
I respect that attitude but I will always enjoy the little goodies, chocolates, cakes and snacks that come with the Christmas spirit. It’s impossible for me to ignore and pretend it isn’t there. Why do that? I will never pretend those luscious chocolates and cakes don’t exist; I accept them with open arms. That being said, I hate gaining a huge amount of weight because of my own gluttony. Sometimes, it’s unavoidable but I DO have some willpower and I like to keep in (relative) shape.
If a balance is maintained, meaning, indulging in fattening foods mixed with exercise and healthful meals, I believe that everyone can win with this equation. A common problem of participating in activities during the winter, is winter! It’s snowing or plain miserable outside, not very inspiring for a workout. It makes it even difficult to get out to go to the gym in horrible weather. Where is this all leading?
Having a Nautilus Commercial Series Elliptical Trainer at home in your basement or extra room of your house is a perfect solution to keeping fit not just during the winter but also all year long but particularly during the holiday months where eating is practically done all day long, at least where I come from! Whether they’re treats brought into the office or sent there by clients or the snowflake cookies and fudge sitting around the house, well, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Temptation is hard to resist. Face it.
So wouldn’t it be ideal to have the Nautilus Elliptical Trainer so you can workout at home? Maybe you know the person who would absolutely love (and need) this. And the whole family can use this, too. I think it’s a wonderful gift albeit extravagant. Sure, some people would rather have a $6,000 necklace or something luxurious and beautiful, but the Nautilus Commercial Series Elliptical Trainer is useful and the bodies of those who are going to benefit from it, will be beautiful. Want it for yourself? Then get it!
About the Elliptical Trainer - The patented four-bar linkage system, built into each foot pedal, follows the natural movement of the feet during the entire elliptical motion. Because users will feel more comfortable, their workouts will be more challenging, leading to better results. The articulating foot pedals also keep hips, knees, and ankles properly aligned. Features:
* Remote Operation Control built into arm handles for easy operation
* Articulating foot pedals keep your hips, knees, and ankles properly aligned
* 400-pound capacity; measures 20 x 62 x 82 inches (W x H x D); 15-year frame warranty
* Commercial-quality cordless elliptical trainer with innovative My Stride system
* Dynamically calculates your stride length and adjusts speed and intensity

You might have guessed by now, if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, that I do not like products that break soon after you buy them. Remember when appliances lasted decades? Ok, I don’t have anything that lasted for decades but my parents’ generation experienced this. I think their washer and dryer lasted 30 years. I’m not kidding. I think they still have a hand blender that is at least 40 years old…and it still works!
Sadly, many items these days are not meant to last so that you will buy another one over and over again. This is not only bad for the environment because these things end up in landfills, but also, you the consumer waste an exorbitant amount of money over time. This is why I like to recommend durable appliances that will last quite a while.
Enter the stainless steel Lello 4080 Musso Lussino 1.5-Quart Ice Cream Maker. Here’s what people have to say about it:
Fully automatic and precisely controlled by a timer, this machine takes the trouble and guesswork out of making ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato, and frozen drinks at home. Ingredients go into the bowl, the timer is set, two buttons are pressed and about 30 minutes later 1-1/2 quarts of a frozen confection are ready for consumption. Because the machine doesn’t require its bowl to be frozen for hours in a refrigerator’s freezer (like less expensive machines that only churn), it can immediately begin making another batch. If a batch becomes too hard the machine shuts off automatically. Not only does it work professionally it looks the part, as the housing, bowl, and paddle are made of stainless steel for sanitation and easy cleaning. The 100-watt machine measures 12 inches wide, 11 inches high, and 18 inches deep, and it weighs 38 pounds. Made it Italy, it carries a one-year warranty against defects. An instruction booklet with many recipes is included.

How many blenders have you gone through? If your answer is more than 1, you’ve been ripped off not to mention that you probably got cheap polycarbonate (plastic) ones. Don’t do that! My recommendation is to get a reliable, durable and performing blender that will last a lifetime. Designed for the commercial environment, the robust Kitchenaid KTA-KPCB148SPM Pro Line Bar Blender design handles job after job with outstanding results. Thoroughly blends smoothies and frozen drinks, and purees sauces and soups in less than 20 seconds. Jar collar, blade assembly, and seals are built into jar for strength, durability, and water-tight performance. The patented one-piece blade has extra thick stainless steel blade design with sharpened edges and high blade angles for extreme performance and long life. The 48 oz stainless-steel jar is dishwasher-safe.
Ok. It’s expensive but it is one of the best blenders you will ever have and it’s made to last.

The cold and dreary days of winter are almost behind us. Thank. God. – and it’s a good time to be thinking about your summer vacations. Your last trip was much too long ago, wasn’t it? While you have some leeway, start preparing now for your next holiday. Yes, you can start to think about losing a few pounds here and there if you care about that kind of thing, but what I like to think about instead, is camera gear. Last time my photos were pretty satisfactory but there were too many days where I wished I had a different lens to get the shot just right. If you have a Nikon, why not think about improving your equipment repertoire? Getting some new lenses is a good start!

I know. It’s cold and time to bulk up on fattening comfort foods. I’m with you. There’s nothing better than potatoes au gratin accompanied by a thick juicy steak. But. All of those days of comfort food eating eventually leads to a noticeable weight gain. That is so common with most people but if you’d like to avoid that bulk weight gain right before summer, start working out regularly now. That way, you can still indulge yourself in yummy foods but you can work it off so the weight gain is non existent or negligible. Do you know how sometimes, while you’re cooking, (you might have guests or you’re just cooking for the family) – you feel like you need a couple of extra stove top burners. You think, “Gosh, if I just had another burner or two I could prepare all of the food to be ready at the same time!” Yea, you COULD prepare everything without those couple of extra burners but it would make life so much more convenient. Some of you KNOW what I’m talking, about, right?
You need this

Slaving away at work day after day with nothing fun in between simply isn’t good for your well-being, so try a new hobby and schedule some fun time in your life. Make it a family activity if you want. You’ve always wanted to tinker in music and sound effects and jingles, and this Yamaha synth could be your ticket to eliminating the big B (boredom) that became routine for you. Life’s short, so embrace a new hobby, get rid of the hum drum life and instead, jazz it up a little.
About the Synthesizer
The Yamaha S90 ES combines a stunningly natural acoustic piano sound with all the sonic flexibility of the award winning Motif ES. A new multi-velocity, stereogrand piano sample, the new sound board simulation and the half-damper capability (when used with the Yamaha FC3) all ensure a rich and realistic acoustic piano sound. The 128 note polyphony tone generator, Studio Connections compatibility, mLAN expansion slot, and PLG expandability give it all the synthesis power and control capabilities of our Motif ES line.

I think the new year is a good time to think about your health, your future and your family. If I had to name an item that was so pervasive that it incorporated all of the above items, I’d say it would be your cell phone. It’s insane, isn’t it? Remember when no one had cell phones? Maybe not, but so many people depend a great deal on this tiny electronic device. Is it important? That’s up to you to decide but if you absolutely can’t live without one, here are some things to think about: 1) Is the cost of the phone worth it? Does it fit comfortably in your budget?; 2) Do you really need a cell phone? 3) Do you need a trendy, fancy one with a million functions or do you simply need a very basic one? 4) Most importantly above all, do you know how much your cell phone radiates? Make sure you find out and compare the potential dangers of using certain cell phones. Better safe than sorry. Now, having considered all that…
